4PM-6PM, Dakak beach is skim heaven!

Dakak Park and Beach resort is located in Brgy Taguilon, Dapaitan City. This is 45 minutes away from my hometown Dipolog City.

It is the only beach I know with green water. It is because of the surrounding mountains covered with green trees. We been here a couple of times with family and friends before.

Photo taken 2 years ago with my HS batch with the color of the water showing green. :-)

This is the first time we will be skim boarding in Dakak and getting public transportation as a challenge.

The resort boasts 15 hectares of forest land, a natural reservoir for native plants and animals, providing the ideal setting for a 750 meter private beach blanketed with powdery white sand. The sand in Dakak is fine and the beach forms a lagoon like geographic wonder.

The park and resort is very clean and well organized. It has dozens of Filipino-European inspired small houses that serve as accommodation for tourists. The facilities are complete and it is like a big community of gardens and houses.

Awesome Skim boarding destination.

Dakak is isolated from the main city Dapitan but getting there is easy. The road is much better than 5 years ago.

How to get there:

To get there by public transportation, you can do the following:

1. From your hotel in Dipolog City, go to the Satellite Market and bus station. Standard tricycle ride will cost you 7Php.

2. From the Terminal, ride the mini buses going to Dapitan City, a 14 KM ride. This is only 20 Php. Travel time is 15-20 minutes.
Ask the conductor to drop you in the Dapitan city market where you can find a “Habal-habal” or motorcycles-for-rent.

3. From Dapitan city market, select from the long lines of motorcycle or “Habal-habal”. These are customized to climb the roads and get you anywhere in the mountains. For security purpose, do not ride these ALONE. Learn to bargain for your fare. Drivers will ask you 100/head. The trip would take 25 minutes.

Ask the “Habal-habal” driver to get you to the Dakak VAN pickup point.

4. Near the VAN pickup point you will see a ticket booth where you can pay your day tour fees.

Note: As of July 31, 2010 Entrance fee is 200Php/head. 100 pesos of that is consumable inside the resort.

5. A van will take you on a 600m ride to the main office where the beach, huts, pools and park is meters away.

Dapitan City night tour

Gloria sa Dapitan and Fantasy land
After the day trip in Dakak we went to Gloria sa Dapitan to get some food and go around Fantasy land.
Gloria sa Dapitan is a big commercial complex with a stadium, bowling alley/building, bars, stage, park, restaurants and the fantasy land park.

Fantasy land  is the “Enchanted Kingdom”  (theme park) of Zamboanga del Norte. Entrance is 300 Php per head. I have not been inside the park.

We met a very popular icon Congressman Romeo Nonong Jalosjos.

Rizal Arrival Shrine

The Rizal shrine is a new landmark in Dapitan city where Rizal is believed to have arrived from Manila. He was carried with a medium sized boat that landed on this shore. Pure BRONZE monument depicts the event.

Dampa
Dampa is a new developed place near the Dapitan river with a selection of floating restaurant and other seafood restaurants. My friends recommended “Inato-lang” restaurant by the sea. They have a very good classical band and yummy food. FOOD TRIP!

Enjoy your trip!
